❖Pathway vs Licensing program, what's the difference?
➢Pathway:
■A 3 course program requiring an EOPA assessment at the end of third course.
■This earns you a seal on your diploma after successfully completing all 3 courses and the EOPA.
■Joining the National Technical Honor Society earns your child cords at graduation. (junior/ senior year only)
➢Licensing Program:
■A 4-year program requiring students to take the following courses to obtain their 1500 hours to qualify for their state board examination:
●Cosmetology Services IV
●Applications of Cosmetology Services
●Cosmetology Practicum I, II, III, IV, V, and VI
●Salon Management & State Board Prep
Must also complete the 3 pathway courses
■This earns you a seal on your diploma after successfully completing all 3 courses and the EOPA and 1500 hours towards licensure with the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers.
■Joining the National Technical Honor Society earns your child cords at graduation. (junior/ senior year only)
Upon graduation, students must sit for the State Board Licensure Exam and pass to apply for licensure via the GA Secretary of State.

How much does this program cost?
This program is FREE to all McEachern high school students, however, like many of our programs, a lab fee is assessed each school year to help offset classroom costs. Lab fees will not exceed $200 any given school year. Students will have the opportunity to fundraise to help with lab fee expenses.

Intro Licensure students are required to practice in the student salon a minimum of 4 days per semester. Level 2 and above licensure students are required to practice in the student salon a minimum of 8 days per semester.
